Introduction
The TeX-related family of software allows one to produce beautiful
mathematical documents. Key components of the system:
- tex: TeX Engine with plain TeX macros and DVI output
- pdftex: TeX Engine with plain TeX macros and PDF output
- latex: TeX Engine with LaTeX macros and DVI output
- pdflatex: TeX Engine with LaTeX macros and PDF output
- mf: MetaFont Engine with plain MF macros and custom output
- mpost: MetaFont Engine with PS output

But the computer support staff does not have the resources to teach TeX—

help you with that.
