Free Dial-Up Internet Access: Mac OS X

These instructions have only been tested to work on Macintosh OS X 10.3 (Panther) and higher. We cannot guarantee functionality on previous versions of OS X.

Start by downloading the following file, right click (ctrl-click) and save it to /Library/Terminal Scripts/. You will need to create this directory(folder) if it doesn't already exist.

Go to the Apple Menu, System Preferences


Select Network.


Click on internal modem, then the Configure button. In the Location drop down menu, pick new location. Name it SLIRP, and click OK.


Fill in your Account Name (user name), Password, and the phone number 618-3190. Click on Apply Now.


Click on the PPP options button. In the drop down menu, select uamath.ccl. Click OK.


Click on TCP/IP and make sure it says Using PPP. At DNS Servers enter 10.0.2.3. For Search Domains enter math.arizona.edu. Click on Apply Now.
