We haven't put together recent documentation.
Our SWIG pages
have some older
documentation on setting up PPP at home, including documentation
for doing this
under linux.
Michael Reid pointed out that your Linux at home might already
come with the package "kppp", in which case you should simply use that.
Some information from him on that appears below, as well as information
on forwarding X connections.
redir X
X Redir: In csh/tcsh/etc. type: setenv DISPLAY :0.0
where is some numeric address.
4. before making an ssh connection, authorize that host to make X
connections, with
% xhost +
this is typed in a shell on my home computer.
5. when opening an ssh session (use ssh -X) set the environment
variable DISPLAY as slirp says, above. now you can use X
applications.
