How to tell IE (LAN usage) to use a proxy server

On the toolbar click on the Tools menu and select Internet Options. Now click the Connections tab and then the LAN Settings button. In the two HTTP boxes at the top enter the desired proxy name and port number. Uncheck the box that says Use the same proxy server for all protocols. Close each one of the open dialog boxes by clicking on OK.
