How to configure your e-mail client

The “basic facts” on how to configure your mail client are given here. In many mail clients, you specify the configuration using either “Preferences” or “Account Settings” or “Advanced Settings”, often by starting in the Edit or Tools menu. (At the bottom of this page we have some screenshots for certain specific mail clients.)

Settings Overview:

Incoming mail (IMAP) server: imap.math.arizona.edu

Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: smtp.math.arizona.edu

Notes

IMAP Folder Names

If your IMAP client allows you to customize the folder names, using the following settings (used by a majority of e-mail systems and e-mail clients) will give you the least hassles. Note that these settings are case-sensitive.
